Moosonee Memoryby ~Ilovelar

Artisan Crafts / Glass / Ornaments & Objects

My whole family (parents, siblings, children, nieces & nephews) went on a trip to Moosonee, Ontario (on board the Polar Bear Express). It was the most unique trip I've ever been on, and the wonderful memories will be with me forever!

Being Catholic, I was especially taken by their Catholic church - which is in fact the Cathedral, as it is the seat of the Bishop. It's "Christ the King Cathedral", and all the stained glass windows are designed by Canadian artists. The missionary and Cree history of the area was all over the decoration of the place. Gorgeous!

My favourite stained glass window was a little one by the altar which I tried to reproduce here. (Unfortunately, I hung it backwards to photograph it, but my hangings are reversible.) I gave it to my parents as a thank-you for the wonderful trip.
